How to Install Sims 4 Hair CC
Installing Sims 4 hair CC is easy once you know which files to use, where they belong and which game setting must be enabled.
Important: EA supports mods and custom content on PC and Mac, not PlayStation or Xbox.
1. Download from the creator
Use the creator’s original Patreon, Tumblr or shop page. Read the complete post for age versions, required meshes, accessories and current access. Hair normally downloads as a .package file or inside a ZIP, RAR or 7Z archive. Do not install an unfamiliar executable program to add a hairstyle.
2. Extract ZIP, RAR or 7Z files
Open the archive with your computer’s ZIP tool or a trusted archive app, then drag the package files into a temporary folder. Do not put the unopened archive in Mods and expect the hair to appear. Keep preview images and instructions outside the game folder if they are not package files.
3. Move package files into Mods
On Windows or Mac, open Documents › Electronic Arts › The Sims 4 › Mods. Move the .package files there. A clean structure is Mods › Hair › Creator Name. Leave Resource.cfg in place. Install only the age and frame versions you need and avoid keeping both merged and separate duplicates.
4. Enable Custom Content and Mods
- Launch The Sims 4 and open Game Options.
- Select Other.
- Check Enable Custom Content and Mods.
- Apply changes, exit the game and relaunch.

5. Find the hair and fix problems
Open Create-a-Sim and filter Hair by Custom Content. If the style is missing, confirm that the archive was extracted, the file ends in .package, CC is enabled and the file is in the active Sims 4 folder. Red-and-white textures or missing pieces usually point to a required mesh; return to the creator’s page.
After game updates, EA may disable custom content. Check the creator’s compatibility notes, re-enable CC and restart. If the game misbehaves, move recent downloads out in small groups until the problem disappears. This is safer than deleting your whole Mods folder.
